What is better integrated Graphics or Dedicated Video Card ?

I am getting ready to go to school and will be using this laptop/notebook computer to do power point presentations and may be playing some games on my free time although mostly for school and surfing the web what the difference between a laptop and a notebook also?|||Dedicated (completely separate) because an integrated video card shares the RAM on your computer with the video card, which can severely slow it down. Dedicated means that the video card has its own RAM and won't take any from your system. |||"All laptops use integrated Graphics cards." - Wrong! Integrated will do everything fine.. Except gaming. Even the "best" integrated solutions are weak for gaming. So long as you have a "robust" integrated IGP (ie: DirectX 10/10.1 Support) turning down the Visual settings may make the game playable.

|||Hello,

For the type of usage you have mentioned, the onboadr graphics will be mostly sufficient. You will need a Graphic card for the Latest and speedy games.|||All laptops use integrated Graphics cards. No real difference between a laptop and notebook. You may want to check out what they call Desktop replacement laptops. They will be the most robust.|||Dedicated has its own resources- you don't want integrated- |||dedicated by far
