The Sims 2 and video cards?

The Sims 2 and a New Computer Questions...?

Okay i am buying a new computer... I have a mac notebook right now and i wanted a PC also but a desktop. I decided on getting a Alienware Area-51

Here is everything in it...

-Processor

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz 6MB Cache 1333MHz FSB

-Cooling system

Alienware® High-Performance Liquid Cooling

-Graphics Processors

Single 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® 9800 GX2

-Memory

4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz - 2 x 2048M

-OS

Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005 – DirectX 9 Only!

Includes AlienRespawn v1.0 Recovery Software(have to pay more for XP i don't want to mess with vista)

-System Software

500GB SATA 3Gb/s 7,200RPM 16MB Cache

Okay 1st off will this computer have some weird reason on why it won't work with the sims 2?

And i was hoping this computer would last up to 4 years at least...

Thanks everyone for your help... I just really don't want to buy a computer and it not work the way I expect...

:)|||It should run on that with ease, but I don't see why you're going with a 9800 GX2? You could get 2 9800GTX's for for the same price or less, or maybe even 9800GTX+'s, DDR3 RAM is good and all, but I'd still go with some good old 2Ghz DDR2 RAM< maybe 1.6Ghz, you didn't post your motherboard either? I recommend an Asus P5Q Deluxe, they are insanely good and also insanely well priced, and vista will perform MUCH better in games with any new graphics card thanks to Direct X 10, if you want any advice on building a gaming rig for around £1000 ($2000) then email me @ wright.elliot@gmail.com|||LOL...LOL...and again LOL...but to answer your question: It will work just fine!

...even if a computer such as that will most definitely be wasted on someone like u…like an old lady driving a Ferrari!|||It will work with The Sims 2.
